An eSIM is a virtual sim that’s digitally embedded in your phone and stores the data needed for your phone to connect to the O2 network. It’s similar to a traditional plastic SIM, but removes the need to put a physical sim into your phone.

You will need to have a compatible handset to be able to use an eSIM, the list is below. eSIM gives you all the same services as you would on a physical SIM such as 5G and Wi-Fi calling.

Have two or more O2 numbers on your handset for different uses, SMS authentication, privacy or personal and work (clear pocket space).
We can offer a physical SIM on EE or Vodafone alongside an O2 eSIM, giving you access to both networks’ tariff benefits while giving you an even more resilient connection.
An eSIM can also leave you space for a local SIM card if you are abroad, to save on roaming costs.
