The Situation

Laurie Ross is a successful personal Insurance Broker with seven branches across Scotland.  We have been supplying Laurie Ross with award-winning business VoIP and broadband for many years. When Covid 19 struck, we quickly helped Laurie Ross to add remote working solutions to their existing business VoIP phone system. It was imperative that the remote working solutions were fast to set up, easy to use and allowed employees to work professionally anywhere.

The Solution

Laurie Ross is a very busy Insurance broker with lots of employees working in multiple branches. When Covid 19 hit, Laurie Ross was faced with a big task. They needed to make sure that all of their employees could continue to communicate and collaborate from home. Luckily, they were already using a business VoIP phone system. VoIP is very flexible and supports changes almost immediately. We talked to Laurie Ross and understood their remote working requirements. We then quickly assisted with adding remote working features to their existing phone system. We added the following remote working features 

    • Softphones  

    We re- configured their existing phone extensions to work with the GS Wave application. The GS Wave application is a softphone app which connects a desk phone to a mobile. The App acts like your desk phone in your pocket. It operates using an internet connection meaning their employees could work anywhere without losing critical business features like hunt groups or auto attendants.  

    • Plug and Play handsets 

    Laurie Ross employees could simply take their office phones home. Employees could plug their desk phones in at home and continue to use it as normal. We also supplied employees with POE power supplies to staff whose home working space wasn’t located near a connection.

    • Call Routing 

    We were able to redirect Laurie Ross’s calls with call routing. This meant calls were being directed to the correct person or department. 

    When COVID-19 struck Hello supported our business plan, proactively identifying a working from home solution and fully supported our transition.

    Throughout the lockdown Laurie Ross employees have been able to continue to work professionally from home. We made sure that every employee was trained and confident at using their new solution. VoIP’s flexibility has meant that Laurie Ross has been able to run their business as usualWhen the lockdown lifts, Laurie Ross can easily change their VoIP set up to support office workers again.
